Coomaraswamy Hall Museum : November 2014

The seventh solo PotliArts Exhibition was held from November 14 to 23 at Coomaraswamy Hall in erstwhile Prince Of Wales Museum, Kalaghoda Mumbai.

The highlight of the exhibition was the participation of renowned organizations Shrujan, Khamir and Translate.

Shrujan’s work includes embroidery, hand woven saris, belts, stoles, dupattas, bags,and other craft items from the artisans of Kutch.

Khamir products feature craft items from the region of Kutch like pottery, wood and leather craft, artifacts from recycled waste and hand woven batik and bandhani prints.

Translate is a concept clothing label that works with regional Ikat artisans by transforming their traditional skills to contemporary designs.

New Kalighat Folk paintings from W.Bengal and silk and pata paintings of Patachitra Orissa Folk made a huge impact.

In textiles hand painted and hand embroidered saris added a new dimension to the handwoven sari sections.

Organic khadi furnishings and new Chhau masks completed the seasons contemporary selection.
